Reading with Bean was set up by two young moms of preschool kids who saw how much their children enjoyed books. They compared that to when they were small and how they hadn’t shared this same enjoyment. So, one day they took a field trip to the kindergarten, watched the teachers interact with the kids and see how books played a role in their teaching.
That was just part one. Other research activities they engaged in were library visits, spending time at day centers and senior homes, looking into mental health institutions and hospitals where they witnessed a change in the patient’s aptitude and mood when they were engaged with a book.
With all this data they put together Reading With Bean – a site with tried and tested tips and ideas to encourage anyone in your life to start reading and enjoy it!
